Dr. Tina Skorjanc Bio
Tina Skorjanc is a recipient of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Widening Fellowship currently working in the Materials Research Laboratory at the University of Nova Gorica, Slovenia. In 2020, she graduated from a newly established Global PhD Program at New York University (NYU) and New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) under the mentorship of Prof. Ali Trabolsi. Her research interests include porous polymers and covalent organic frameworks for applications in pollutant removal, sensing, and biomedicine. Tina is the recipient of multiple awards and recognitions, including the Horizon Fellowship in Natural Sciences (NYU), Dean’s Dissertation Writing Fellowship (NYU), and the Pregl Award for an outstanding doctoral thesis in chemistry (National Institute of Chemistry, Slovenia). In 2022, she was named a finalist for the Prometheus of Science Award for science communication (Slovene Science Foundation) and selected to represent Slovenia at the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Lindau, Germany.
