Heather Calcaterra Bio
I am a Ph.D. student in the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department at Northwestern University, where I work in the laboratory of Professor Chad Mirkin. My research, for which I was recognized as a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship recipient, investigates crystallization and characterization strategies for colloidal crystals engineered with DNA, and studying the mechanical, optical, and electronic properties of these crystals. Prior to Northwestern, I did my undergraduate education at the University of Michigan in the Chemical Engineering Department. In my spare time, I am interested in data science and outreach for women in STEM.
