Marieh Al-Handawi Bio

Marieh Al-Handawi earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from New York University’s Graduate School of Arts and Science in 2022. She is currently working as a Post-Doctoral Associate in the Naumov’s Smart Materials Lab at New York University Abu Dhabi, where she is involved in various interdisciplinary projects related to the design, fabrication, and characterization of materials. Her main research interest is focused on the intersection between material science and biology, where she investigates natural phenomena with possible applications to materials science, such as biomineralization, Water harvesting technologies and bioluminescence, and applies the underlying principles to bioinspired artificial materials.
